Product reference library

The anchor products we test, the data behind each one.

ATA tests anchors from every major manufacturer. This library provides independent reference information on the products we encounter in the field -- specifications, approvals, testing methodology, and what to watch for during proof and ultimate load programmes.

Chemical Anchors

Epoxy, Vinylester, Hybrid & Polyester Injection Mortars

Chemical anchors (also called adhesive anchors or resin anchors) use an injectable mortar -- epoxy, vinylester, hybrid, or polyester -- to bond a threaded rod, rebar, or anchor element into a drilled hole in concrete, masonry, or rock. The mortar fills the annular gap between the anchor element and the substrate, creating a bond that transfers load through adhesion, mechanical interlock, and micro-keying along the bore surface.

Mechanical Anchors

Expansion, Wedge, Sleeve, Drop-In & Undercut Anchors

Mechanical anchors generate holding capacity through mechanical interlock between the anchor and the substrate. Expansion anchors (wedge and sleeve types) work by expanding against the bore wall when tightened, creating friction and interlock that resists pull-out. Undercut anchors use a shaped bore to create a positive mechanical key that does not rely on sustained friction.

Screw Anchors

Self-Tapping Concrete Screws & Bolt Anchors

Screw anchors (concrete screws) are self-tapping fasteners that cut a thread directly into a pre-drilled hole in concrete or masonry. Unlike expansion anchors, screw anchors do not generate radial expansion force -- they rely on the mechanical interlock between the cut thread and the substrate. This makes them suitable for use near edges and in thin concrete members where expansion force could cause splitting.

Cast-In Anchors

Anchor Channels, Headed Studs & Ferrule Systems

Cast-in anchors are embedded in concrete during the pour, before the concrete sets. They include anchor channels (continuous profiled steel channels cast into concrete edges or soffits), headed studs (welded to steel elements and encased in concrete), and ferrule systems (threaded inserts cast into precast panels or slabs). Cast-in systems provide the highest capacity and most reliable performance because the anchor element is fully encased in concrete.

Fall Arrest Anchor Devices

Single-Point Anchor Hardware for Height Safety Systems

Fall arrest anchor devices are the hardware components -- surface-mounted plates, post anchors, eyebolt assemblies, and cable anchor points -- that workers connect their personal fall arrest equipment to when working at height. These devices are rated to AS 5532:2025 at 12 kN, 15 kN, 18 kN, or 21 kN depending on the fall arrest scenario (single-person limited free-fall through to two-person free-fall arrest).

Testing Equipment

Hydraulic Testers, Load Cells & Displacement Monitoring Systems

Anchor testing equipment includes the hydraulic jacks, load cells, pressure gauges, reaction frames, displacement transducers, and data acquisition systems used to apply and measure loads during proof and ultimate load testing. The calibration and configuration of this equipment directly affects the accuracy and validity of test results.

Fischer

Fischer FIS V 360 S

The Fischer FIS V 360 S is a styrene-free vinylester hybrid injection mortar designed for heavy-duty anchoring in concrete and masonry. It is one of Fischer's core chemical anchoring products, carrying an ETA for structural applications in cracked and uncracked concrete. The "S" designation indicates the current-generation styrene-free formulation.

Ramset ChemSet Maxima Spin Capsule product image
Ramset

Ramset ChemSet Maxima Spin Capsule

The Ramset ChemSet Maxima is a capsule-style chemical anchor that uses a glass capsule containing acrylic resin and hardener. The capsule is inserted into the drilled hole, and the anchor stud is driven through the capsule using a rotary-hammer drill, which breaks the glass, mixes the resin and hardener, and seats the rod in a single operation.

Concrete (dry, wet, and flooded)
Hilti

Hilti HST3

The Hilti HST3 is a heavy-duty wedge expansion anchor designed for high-load structural connections in concrete. It uses a torque-controlled expansion mechanism with an optimised expansion sleeve that provides consistent clamping force across a range of concrete strengths and conditions.

Concrete (cracked and uncracked)
Sika

Sika AnchorFix-3+

The Sika AnchorFix-3+ is a high-performance two-component epoxy resin anchoring adhesive designed for heavy-duty structural anchoring in concrete, solid masonry, and natural stone. It is Sika's premium anchoring product, carrying an ETA for structural applications and offering high load capacities. The product is solvent-free, styrene-free, and low-odour.

Concrete (cracked and uncracked)Solid masonry
DeWalt / Powers

DeWalt Pure 110+

The DeWalt Pure 110+ (formerly Powers Pure 110+) is a pure epoxy injection mortar designed for heavy-duty structural anchoring. It was one of the first ETA-certified pure epoxy anchoring systems available in the market and maintains a strong specification history on infrastructure and structural projects.
